Food Drives for AFAC

Food drives are a great way to help AFAC.

We've made it easy for you to organize a food drive.

  • Put your name and other specific information in our sample flyers (links found at the bottom of this page).
  • You can distribute the flyers to your neighbors and offer your house or car as the collection point.
  • You can put out collection bins in your office, church or apartment building.

Over 60% of the food AFAC distributes is donated to us. The food we'll get from your food drive helps keep our costs down and provides us with just the kinds of food we need.

We can always use soup, cereal, canned tuna, peanut butter and pasta.

Don't forget that we use hundreds of paper and plastic grocery bags each week, so consider doing a bag drive as well.

Volunteers can also organize Emergency Food Kit Drives for AFAC.  Emergency Food Kits (EFKs) are given to clients with immediate needs by County social workers.

If you are interested in doing a food drive or EFK drive for us, contact Magda Jaskot, AFAC Food Drive Coordinator, at 703.845.8486 or Magda.Jaskot@afac.org to make arrangements.

AFAC is located at 2708 S. Nelson Street in Arlington, just off Four Mile Run Drive. Click here for directions. You can drop off food from 9-5 Monday - Friday and 9-11 on Saturdays.

Below you'll find links to some documents helpful for planning and publicizing your food drive. Feel free to customize any of the flyers to meet your needs.
